Course Name:  Heartsaver CPR in School

Who should take this course:  This Course is designed to teach both adult and pediatric (infant/child) lay rescuer CPR to middle or high school students. 
Description:  Adult: The course presents information about the AHA Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking in adults. It also includes information about the healthy heart living and actions to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in adults. Infant and Child: The course also provides information about the AHA infant and child Chain of Survival, signs of chocking in infants and children, prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, and prevention of the most common fatal injuries in infants and children. It teaches rescuers skills in CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO).
Course Prerequisites:  Please call our office at 678-423-7670 for other information and assistance in setting up a school program. Costs will vary based on numerous factors.
Testing Required:  The course has been set organized into 40-minute blocks so that the course can be easily integrated into the typical middle or high school class schedule. The length of the course averages 4 to 6 hours. American Heart Association (AHA) 25 question written examination. Students must successfully demonstrate rescue breathing, one rescuer CPR, Adult and/or Infant and child unresponsive foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO).
Course Notes:  All CPR and Instructor Courses are taught according to the Guidelines of the American Heart Association. Documentation is provided through the American Heart Association for two years from the date of successful course completion. Successful course completion and documentation does not constitute a warranty of performance, or authorize a student to perform any procedures on patients. Only, that the student has demonstrated proficiency to meet the course completion guidelines on the date of course.
